Miracles in Appleton

Hello everyone! Ok so I know that I have not written in like ages,  I could say that I am going to do better at sending post's, but I probably won't! Life is just so crazy busy and there is only so much time to email, but I have time today, so here it goes! :)

Life here in Appleton 1st ward has just been the best. I love this ward and this area, and I have gained such a testimony that this is where I need to be. The ward members are like family now and I couldn't imagine not having them in my life. I have so many good examples all around me of people who are so Christlike that I would like to emulate. I am grateful for the gospel and for the fact that no matter where we go we know that we will have a ward family there to love and support us. Lately we have had a lot of new families move into the ward, and it has been amazing to see the love that they are shown. The ward instantly helps them to move in and feel welcome. This ward is definitely a family and they know that they can all count on one another. 

So I wanted to just share some of the miracles that I have seen lately. There are so many but there are some that I just wanted to share! The first one was after we had zone conference. Which is just a big meeting with all the missionaries from the zone (probably about 30 missionaries), and we get trained from President, Sister Cutler, the assistants, and the zone leaders. While we were there we learned about family history work and how we should use it in our finding, and then to go along with that we were committed to go out and use family history work in our finding! We were also committed to open up to the Book of Mormon when we use family history! So right after zone conference we went out and were going to visit a less active and while we were outside we saw this lady just outside her apartment with her dog and so I decided to walk right up and pet her dog! When we did we just started talking to her a little bit and we brought up family history. She then told us about how she had great relatives who had sailed here from Sweden! So, I opened up the Book of Mormon and told her all about Lehi and his family and how just like her ancestors, Lehi and his family did the same thing and they sailed across the ocean to get to the America's! It was so amazing how receptive she was. She took a Book of Mormon and we got her number, and we are excited to be able to meet with her again. It was just amazing to be able to use what we learned and go out and apply it and right away gain a testimony of it! Later on this week we did the same thing when we went tracting and we met Rich. We talked with him about family history and related it back to the Book of Mormon. He accepted a book and we will be going back to see him as well, we both felt that he was definitely prepared! :) 

Being companions with Sister Kealer has been so much fun! Everyone thinks it's awesome that we knew each other before we came out, and so do we! :) We are able to go out and work and also to have fun while we do it. I know that there are definitely things that I have been able to learn from her and I am so grateful for that. The people here in Appleton really needed her! 

I am super excited for my birthday coming up, I can't believe that I am already turning 20, I feel so old! We have a dinner on Sunday before my birthday to celebrate with a family and we also have a dinner on my Birthday and they are making me my favorite dinner and desert so I am really excited. My birthday is also on a pday so hopefully me and Sister Kealer will be able to do something really fun :).

I just want to say thank you so much for all of you who take the time to read these post's, it means a lot! I am so grateful to be here in Wisconsin and to be serving a mission. I am also grateful that I have a sister who is also serving right now. My family is being so blessed and I can definitely see that! There has been a lot of rain here lately and I love it. It's really warming up and the tree's are starting to turn green. I just love Wisconsin!! I hope you all have a great week, I love you so much :)
