Hello everyone! I am so sorry that it has been a while since
I have posted anything. I know I say that every time so maybe I can stop saying
that! :) So things here with me have been very good. I am seeing miracles
everyday here in Appleton
and I love serving here. This area is truly where I am meant to be. I know that
everywhere that we get placed as missionaries is where we need to be. We are
called by God and he puts us where he needs us!
So Appleton has been a lot
different from Brookfield.
One thing that I love here about the work is that we work a lot with less-actives.
We see about 8 less active every week! We also have a lot of investigators that
we are working with, so I feel like we really have a good balance between the
two :). I am very excited for this month because we have a baptism coming up!
Our investigator Pam is going to be baptized on the 15th of this month. She is
a single mom and is doing so good!! She has given up so many things to be where
she is at right now. Her two boys have recently been baptized and now she gets
to follow in their footsteps!! I have been able to see the gospel change their
lives for the better. They truly are happier with the gospel in their lives!
The other exciting thing was that her friend came to church with her this
Sunday! She is not even a member yet and she is trying to share the gospel!
:)
Something that I also love about Appleton is the ward that I am serving in.
This new year there has definitely been a push to do missionary work. This ward
has truly taken that to heart and has been trying to be good member
missionaries. Lately we have been able to teach people in members homes, and
that has been going great! The members are so wiling to not be scared and just
share what they know. :) That's even something that I have had to work on since
I have been out here. I so badly want to be able to talk with EVERYONE I see,
but it's hard! Although, that is no excuse, especially for me as a missionary.
I just need to have more confidence in the Lord and know that he will help me.
I know that he has helped me the whole time on my mission, so why would he
stop??
I just want to end by sharing something that I have learned
this past week! I love Preach My Gospel so much. It really is scripture and is
something that we can all use in our daily lives. A while ago we were in a
meeting with President Cutler and he told us that Preach My Gospel is not just
for us as missionaries, that it is something for us when we get off of our
missions. He then had us replace the word missionary with parent. When we
started doing that we were able to see the way that it could be applied to us
as parents when we get off of our missions! I hope that all of you have Preach
My Gospels and that all of you are trying to study from them! I know that they
can help you :). Christ-like attributes is a really good section to start
studying from, I love it!!
I know that this church is true. I know that my Heavenly
Father loves me and loves all of us! He is always aware of us (Alma 26:37). I
know that the Book of Mormon is true. As we share our testimonies of this
gospel ours will grown even stronger! We can all be missionaries!! I love you
and hope that all of you are doing well. I love getting letters, so feel free
to write!! Have a great week and remember that God loves you and so do I!!
:)
Love,
Sister Brewster
